How Do I Reverse Polarity on My HID Kit?

Here you will find step by step instructions on how to reverse the polarity from your vehicles factory harness to your hid kit. Most vehicles come with the positive and negative wires inline with our connects however there are some vehicles where this positive and negative wire is reversed thus needing to be reversed going into the hid kit.  This is the number 1 most common issue with hid kit installation. The symptom will be that neither headlight turns on at all when the headlight switch is activated. There will be NO flickering, turn on shut off, or ANY other symptom other than completely NOT turning on if the issue is reversed polarity.

How Do I Measure the Voltage on my Vehicle?

Measuring Voltage on Your vehicle...

Here you will find instructions on measuring the voltage on your vehicles factory harness to ensure proper input voltage on your HID Kit. If issues during installation occur this should be one of the first troubleshooting steps in order to ensure that fuses have not blown, voltage is not too high or too low, or voltage is not unstable as your HID Kit requires a stable input voltage of approximately 12v DC - 13.5v DC.

Why Would I Need a Relay?

Here you will find information on what an HID relay harness is used for and when you want to install one with your HID Kit. HID Auto Vision recommends a relay for EVERY HID Kit installation but it is NOT required for 90% of vehicles. A relay harness will allow for more longevity out of your HID Kit because it helps provide a more consistent flow of power to the kit thus allowing for less fluctuations in power which in turn creates less wear on internal ballast components.

What Do I Do If my Daytime Running Lights Flicker After Installing my HID Kit?

Daytime Running Light Flickering After HID Kit Installation...

Here you will find possible solutions for issues with your Daytime Running Light after installation of an HID Conversion Kit. Typically HID Kits work properly with vehicle's with Daytime Running Lights however there are some makes and models that use extremely low voltage for the DRL setting and this voltage is NOT enough to keep the HID Kit running. In these cases it typically requires the deactivation of the DRL feature in order to install and use an HID Kit. This goes with ALL HID Kits.
